Grades: 9-12 (8th graders may take for HS credit)

Cost: $390 ($175/semester + $40 material fee) - FULL YEAR COURSE
1 HS Credit: Must take both Fall & Spring

Students begin learning American Sign Language through interactive practice and real communication. They will develop foundational skills in fingerspelling, vocabulary, and basic sentence structure while building confidence in both expressive and receptive signing.

This class is active and participation-based, with students regularly practicing and applying what they learn through guided activities and conversation. In addition to language skills, students will explore Deaf Culture, gaining an understanding of community values, history, and communication norms.

Coursework includes weekly practice, quizzes, and semester assessments to support steady progress throughout the year.

Parents stay connected through Google Classroom, where assignments, materials, and updates are posted each week.

This course runs across both Fall and Spring semesters and fulfills one full year of high school foreign language credit.
