Automotive Care & Safe Driving
Day & Time: Thursdays, 12:00pm-1:30pm

Students gain practical skills in both vehicle care and safe driving through hands-on instruction and real-world application. Taught by a paramedic and driver trainer, this course combines automotive knowledge with a strong focus on driver awareness and safety.
This class is active and skill-based, with students learning how to maintain a vehicle while also understanding the risks and responsibilities of driving. Topics include basic automotive systems, routine maintenance, and identifying common issues, alongside discussions on road safety, decision-making, and hazard awareness.
Students will apply what they learn through a driving skills course at the end of the semester, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate safe driving practices in a controlled environment.
This course meets Safe Driving Course standards for many insurance providers.

Students will receive the following materials as part of the course fee. Tool box, screwdriver set, adjustable wrench set, open and closed end wrench set, socket set, radiator fluid tester, Battery fluid tester, brake pad gauge, tire depth gauge, multimeter, eye protection, disposable gloves
