Create Your Own Mythical Creature Field Guide
Day & Time: Thursdays, 12:00pm-1:30pm
Grades: 3-5
Teacher: Michelle Mixa
Cost: $200 ($175/semester + $25 material fee)
Students explore mythological creatures from cultures around the world and then create their own. Through reading, discussion, outdoor exploration, and creative projects, they will imagine, design, and document original creatures in a personalized field guide.
This class is highly interactive, with students spending time both indoors and outdoors gathering inspiration, sketching, and writing descriptions. Along the way, they will practice writing in complete sentences, organizing their ideas, and making observations about the world around them.
Parents stay connected through simple updates and guidance as students build and complete their field guide.
Please note: Students will spend time outside most days (weather permitting) and should come prepared for outdoor activity.
