Family ASL: Learn Together
Day & Time: Thursdays, 12:00pm-1:00pm (new to ASL)
OR
Day & Time: Thursdays, 1:00pm-2:00pm (returning families - themes: Animals, Weather, House)
Grades: 1-8 (with participating adult)
Teacher: Christina Walkenhorst
Cost: $75/semester/child & $25/semester/adult + $10 material fee)
Families learn American Sign Language side by side in this interactive, all-ages class. A participating adult attends with their student(s), creating a shared learning experience that can continue naturally at home.
Students and parents will build foundational skills in fingerspelling, vocabulary, and simple sentence structure while also exploring Deaf Culture and community. Lessons include games, group activities, and guided practice designed to engage learners of all ages.
This class is active and relational, helping families grow in communication skills together while building confidence using ASL in everyday interactions.
